Haven't seen any new Rosemary work in a while and this also gets another commission of my docket. This one was for who commissioned a steampunk Rosemary for his collection. This is the final result of the development sketches link link I have posted over the last few months.
A particular challenge to this piece was rendering the dress that has been hitched up with the gaiters. was particularly helpful in assisting me in explaining how the garment would probably bunch up and hang. This was very useful advice since I had no direct reference, at best I had some very rough photos that gave a very general idea of how the clothing would react. In the end I am happy with how it turned out.
A few of other things I am proud of in this piece is the greenish blue smoke coming from the gun barrel along with checkering on wooden back stock and the case-hardening on the carbine receiver. The piece is done with colored pencil, markers, technical pen and gouache. The paper size is 11" x 14", the working surface is vellum finish Bristol Board.
